Position Summary
- Field CTO is a senior, client-facing leader who turns executive introductions into qualified opportunities and closed deals. Working closely with the BD Advisor and Sales Leader, this person leads the entire post-introduction process, from discovery workshops and proposal development to final deal closure.
- The role requires equal weight on technical credibility and business acumen. The Field CTO must be able to sit with a CIO, CDO, or GM, understand their strategic challenges, and articulate SOL Gulf’s solutions in business outcome language — not technical jargon.
- This is a presales-led role with delivery oversight responsibility. The Field CTO ensures that what is sold can be delivered, and that every proposal is realistic, properly scoped, and aligned to SOL Gulf’s downstream delivery capability.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Technical Advisory
- Engage at GM, VP, CIO, CDO, and C-suite level — developing the technical motion and positioning SOL Gulf as a long-term trusted technology partner
- Lead discovery workshops and solution design sessions with client leadership teams, translating business challenges into structured, outcome-driven SOL Gulf proposals
- Build deep client relationships that extend beyond individual transactions — becoming a trusted advisor embedded in the client’s technology decision-making process
Presales & Proposal Leadership
- Own the presales process end-to-end: scoping, solution architecture, proposal development, commercial structuring, and presentation to senior client stakeholders
- Lead responses to RFPs and competitive bids — coordinating technical inputs from the delivery team and ensuring proposals are professionally structured and outcome-focused
- Develop and maintain reusable proposal assets — solution templates, case study narratives, and technical response libraries — across SOL Gulf’s 13 GTM service offerings
BD Team Coaching & Support
- Coach and guide the BD Executive team in technical conversations, account penetration strategies, and opportunity qualification
- Brief BD Executives before client meetings and debrief after to reinforce learning and sharpen the team’s technical positioning capability
- Collaborate with the Sales Leader to develop account strategies for the 30 priority target accounts
OEM & Partner Positioning
- Represent SOL Gulf in OEM and partner discussions — Microsoft, Google Cloud, Oracle, Fortinet, ServiceNow — positioning the firm for co-sell status and partner programme advancement
- Attend partner events, technology forums, and industry conferences as a SOL Gulf technical spokesperson
- Support the development of joint value propositions with gold-tier OEM partners for co-selling into target accounts
Delivery Alignment & Quality Governance
- Work closely with the delivery team to ensure proposals are realistic, properly scoped, and aligned with downstream delivery partner capabilities
- Maintain visibility of active engagements to identify expansion opportunities and flag delivery risks early
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOL Gulf’s service offerings based on client feedback and market developments
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of technology experience, with at least 5 years in a client-facing presales, solutions architecture, or technology advisory role
- Deep technical credibility across two or more of SOL Gulf’s core domains: Cloud & AI (Azure, GCP), Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity (SOC/SIEM), Oracle ERP, or Managed Services (ServiceNow)
- Proven ability to engage independently at C-suite and GM level — running discovery sessions, whiteboard workshops, and executive presentations without support
- Strong proposal and bid leadership experience — ability to structure and articulate complex technology solutions in business language
- Experience working in the KSA or GCC technology market — understanding of NCA, DGA, NDMO, ZATCA regulatory frameworks, Vision 2030 priorities, and government procurement dynamics
- Prior experience at a Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or Google Cloud partner organisation in a presales or solutions architect capacity is a strong advantage
- Active certifications preferred: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect, TOGAF, CISSP, or equivalent
Impact of the Role
This role is the technical engine of SOL Gulf’s commercial growth. By converting senior introductions into qualified, well-scoped opportunities, the Director Technology directly enables the closure of the SAR 8–10M H2 2026 revenue target and builds the technical credibility that differentiates SOL Gulf from generic staffing and resource augmentation competitors in the KSA market.
