Oracle ERP Project Director, Pakistan, Islamabad

Role: Oracle ERP Project Director

Department: Technology Delivery

Location: Pakistan (Islamabad / Rawalpindi), On-site

Job Type: Full Time

Reports To: SOL Gulf Enterprise Delivery Leadership

SOL Gulf is looking for an experienced Oracle ERP Project Director to lead full-scale Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) implementation programmes from inception through go-live and into post-implementation support. This is a senior, client-facing leadership role that combines deep Oracle EBS delivery expertise with full P&L ownership and executive stakeholder management.

Position Summary

  • The Oracle ERP Project Director is one of SOL Gulf’s most senior delivery leaders, serving as the single point of accountability for full-scale Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) implementation programmes. The role carries end-to-end programme ownership across the full delivery lifecycle — from inception and design through go-live and into post-implementation support.
  • This is a full P&L, governance, and client management role. The Project Director leads a cross-functional delivery team, chairs the programme Steering Committee, owns the project P&L, and builds long-term SOL Gulf client relationships across the full lifecycle of each engagement.
  • The role demands equal weight on Oracle EBS technical depth and executive client-management capability. The Project Director must be credible in a CFO-led financial design workshop and equally credible in a strategic conversation about AI, data, and managed services as the next horizon for clients and for SOL Gulf’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Delivery and Governance

  • Own end-to-end delivery of Oracle EBS implementation programmes spanning Finance (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management), SCM (PO, INV, OM, WMS, iProcurement), Manufacturing (BOM, WIP, Costing), and HCM (Core HR, Payroll).
  • Drive phase-by-phase milestone delivery across the full implementation methodology — AS-IS assessment, Fit-Gap, conference room pilots, UAT, parallel run, cutover, and post-go-live support.
  • Chair the programme Steering Committee with client executive leadership; own the Risk Register, RICE Register, and issue-escalation process.
  • Govern the data-migration programme, parallel-run strategy, reconciliation sign-offs, and formal Go/No-Go cutover decisions.
  • Enforce SOL Gulf delivery standards, documentation quality, and structured testing rigour across all functional workstreams.

Commercial and P&L Management

  • Own the full project P&L including budget tracking, margin management, resource cost control, and commercial reporting to SOL Gulf leadership.
  • Manage scope discipline through formal Change Request governance; protect delivery margin from RICE customisation creep.
  • Identify and qualify follow-on opportunities in BI and Analytics, AI and Data, Managed Services, and Cybersecurity as client accounts mature.

Client and Stakeholder Leadership

  • Build and sustain trusted advisor relationships at CFO and C-suite level, going beyond delivery management to become embedded in the client’s strategic technology decision-making.
  • Lead change management across complex, legacy, and owner-driven organisations, driving ERP adoption across large and diverse workforces.
  • Handle escalations with authority and professionalism; navigate owner-led organisational dynamics while maintaining programme momentum and stakeholder confidence.

Team Leadership and Delivery Partner Management

  • Lead and coordinate on-site and remote functional workstreams across Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, HR, and Technical tracks.
  • Manage downstream delivery-partner teams under SOL Gulf governance; hold them accountable to scope, quality, and milestone delivery.
  • Coach functional leads and super-users; act as SOL Gulf’s cultural ambassador, bringing structured, modern consulting discipline into legacy operational environments.

Account Growth

  • As programmes succeed, scope and lead additional digital initiatives covering BI and Analytics, AI and Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Managed Services, growing SOL Gulf accounts beyond ERP.
  • Maintain and develop long-term account roadmaps in alignment with SOL Gulf’s capability model and clients’ evolving digital maturity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 15 or more years in enterprise IT consulting or ERP programme delivery, with at least 3 full-cycle Oracle EBS R12.2 implementations delivered as Programme Director or Senior Programme Manager.
  • Deep functional knowledge across Oracle Financials (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management) and Oracle SCM (PO, INV, OM, WMS, iProcurement); Manufacturing (BOM, WIP, Costing) and HCM experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership in a consulting delivery context: managed project budget, tracked margin, and handled commercial scope negotiations with clients.
  • Proven track record delivering in manufacturing, agri-business, FMCG, or multi-entity conglomerates; family-owned or owner-led organisation experience a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage independently at CFO and C-suite level, building trust with senior executives and influencing decisions without formal authority.
  • Experience managing a downstream delivery partner or subcontractor team in a prime contractor model; comfortable holding accountability for work executed by others.
  • Deep knowledge of Pakistan business and regulatory context: payroll legislation, multi-currency operations, FX requirements, and local business culture.
  • Sufficient understanding of the broader digital transformation landscape covering AI and Data, Business Intelligence, and Managed Services to speak credibly about the account’s future beyond ERP.
  • PMP, Prince2, or equivalent programme management certification; Oracle EBS R12 functional certification an advantage.
